The modern Jane

Her name is Jane. Though she oozes femininity, she has a strong & resilient character. She is ready for any challenge or adventure!
I initially imagined her to be a character from Star Wars. She was supposed to wear a short, kimono inspired & made of leather (fake, of course) dress. It's something like what Queen Amidala would wear. Then one fine day, I was admiring a fashion spread from Vogue magazine & got totally enraptured by it. So, I decided to put my warrior outfit away & start fresh!
I have to admit, I can be very fickle minded about styling my dolls. I can have an idea & then suddenly, I will be inspired by something else. If the new idea inspired me more, I will go for it. So, I never know how my dolls will turn out in the end! But having said that, all my dolls share the same character, that is, feminine but yet strong & resilient.
This is the first time I did draping on a doll. Draping has always been my favourite subject in fashion school. I don't get to do it often now.... nope, wait... I don't get to do it at all in the working world. And so I did it on my dolls.
  So, here she is!

Spirited warrior

She is spirited.
She loves the wood
She may be just 4" tall,
but she is a fighter
Don't mess with her!

The doll collection

I've not much time to make dolls but when I do, I enjoy the process very much. I really enjoy crafting the characters and of course, the fashion I get to create! Here is a collection of three dolls that I've made simultaneously. The clothes inspiration came from a simple chain. I saw a chain lying around idle on the table & I suddenly have an idea for a dress. And then I interpret the idea onto the other two designs.  These dolls took me ages to make... but it's finally done.
